You may have noticed that in a few recent posts I’ve mentioned Walter’s new trick for escaping his paddock to raid our sweet green lawn: swimming across the dam. Well I caught him in the act. Cobber and Ellie look on, apparently incredulous – “What the …?!”
And the cheeky, smart little pinto pony laps back to flaunt his swimming prowess before striking out for the shore.
I don’t know how I’m going to stop this.

Love it! He found his own way to stay cool and get in some swimming exercise. I’ve heard of horses that have water attractions (swimming) before, but not seen it on video :)) :)) I think it’s wonderful :)) Dawn

Both Walter and his best friend Cobber like to take a dip on a hot day, but it’s winter here and I would bet that water is icy (we had frost this morning). An exercise ice bath, perhaps!

And as you said, how would you stop that??? It’s really amazing that he wants to do it, all on his own. Some inner compulsion. Good for circulation, I’m sure! :))
